Dark Mode has been my personal itch since the very first release of Telebugs. Today, with version 1.12.0, it’s finally here — and it looks great. Beyond the new theme, this update brings several UI refinements, smarter popover behavior, performance improvements, and a round of bug fixes that make the app feel more polished overall.

Dark Mode

Telebugs now automatically follows your system theme. If your OS or browser is set to Dark Mode, Telebugs switches seamlessly — no extra settings required (although you can force it via Appearance).

Refined Input Elements

Checkboxes, radio buttons, switches, and other form controls now have a cleaner, more modern appearance that aligns better with the overall design and improves accessibility.

Smarter Popover Behavior

Instant popovers could sometimes get in the way while browsing or clicking nearby elements. We’ve added small delays to give you more control and prevent accidental triggers.

Other Improvements & Fixes

A few more changes that make the app faster and more reliable:

  • Switched Releases and Artifacts lists to cursor-based pagination for consistently smooth scrolling and loading.
  • Fixed popover positioning issues in Firefox.
  • Shrunk the favicon.svg from over 387 kB to ~2 kB—noticeably faster page loads in Firefox.
  • Corrected the suggested Fastmail email configuration so it works out of the box.
  • Updated Ruby to 3.4.8 behind the scenes.

Wrapping Up

Version 1.12.0 is mostly about polish: Dark Mode delivers the visual refresh many of us wanted, while the smaller tweaks make everyday interactions feel smoother and less frustrating. These changes might seem subtle individually, but together they add up to a noticeably better experience.
