Telebugs 1.4.0: Introducing error notes
Telebugs 1.4.0 adds support for error notes, fixes bugs, and updates the Ruby version to 3.4.4.
Today, I'm thrilled to roll out Telebugs 1.4.0 — now with error notes, a fresh round of bug fixes, and an upgrade to Ruby 3.4.4.
Let’s dive into the spotlight feature of this release: error notes.

Error notes
Sometimes a raw error report just isn’t enough. Maybe you need to jot down an insight, link to a related issue tracker ticket, or share a quick comment. With error notes, you can attach all that extra context directly to the error itself.
To add a note, head to the new Notes tab, type your comment, and hit the Add note button. Your note will appear right in the Notes tab of the error report.
Error notes support plain text with auto-detected links — so URLs instantly become clickable.
You can attach any file — screenshot, log file, or even an MP3! Drop in as many as you want: there’s no limit.
The first image you upload becomes the error thumbnail (instead of the standard bug icon), making it pop in your dashboard at a glance.
A new automatic activity note will be added whenever you resolve, unresolve, or merge an error, keeping a clear audit trail.

Retention rules for error notes
Need to clear out attachments? In Project Settings under Danger Zone, hit Purge note attachments to strip all files from every error note. Don’t worry — your notes stay safe, only the attachments are removed.

Conclusion
Error notes turn Telebugs into your personal detective notebook — capturing insights, links, and files right alongside each error. Whether you’re troubleshooting solo or collaborating with your team, context-rich notes make tracking down bugs smoother than ever.
Give error notes a spin in Telebugs 1.4.0, and let me know what you think. Happy debugging!
